DPP Nicholas Cowdery said a court suppression order had existed in relation to TimothyGuider's identity to protect him while he was still an inmate.

"The pseudonym order was made for the purposes of the committal proceedings ...," MrCowdery's statement said.

"The purpose behind the pseudonym order ceased to exist, in any event, upon TimothyGuider's release from prison, before (Mr Debus's) media conference."
