Vic: Govt pays bonuses to public transport companies
MELBOURNE, Jan 14 AAP - The Victorian government has paid $4.2 million in bonuses toprivate tram and train operators for exceeding quarterly performance targets, TransportMinister Peter Batchelor said today.
In the third quarter last year (July to September), transport operators recorded theirbest performance results since privatisation of the public transport system in 1999, theminister said.
Two train operators, M>Train (M>Train) and Connex Trains, received bonuses of $1.67million and $1.14 million respectively.
